Heng Long 1/16 M41A3 Walker Bulldog RC Tank with Dual Mabuchi RS540 Motors. Modular 3D printed tank mounts and worm gear drive housings I designed on TurboCAD.
RC ball bearings on worm drive. 3D printed beaing insert on drive axle with 16x8x5 ball bearing for output. Fabricated aluminum motor rail. Run with Sabertooth 2X12, single7.2V battery. Final drive ratio 23.64 to 1. Drop in 3D printed mounts use same stock mounting holes as oringinal gear housing.

Had to custom make the spur gear hubs from a shaft coupler and a universal hub on lathe. The drive axles are fabricated from 5/16 grade 5 bolt shank and RC truck axle. Lid fit on the tank, motors are right under the air vents!
This turned out so nice, wanted to share this with you. These mounts should fit in any Heng Long tank with any motor. What is really nice is to be able to change gear raitos you can't do with stock gear boxes. Will see how they hold up. Very tight fit but it works, mission accomplised.]]>

Dynamic Soaring close to 400 mph Great Day at Weldon, California. Dynamic Soaring breaking record. Close to 400 mph RC Gliders without any propellers or motors. December 22, 2009

Dynamic soaring is a flying technique used to gain energy by repeatedly crossing the boundary between air masses of significantly different velocity. Such zones of high wind gradient are generally found close to obstacles and close to the surface, so the technique is mainly of use to birds and operators of radio-controlled gliders, but glider pilots have occasionally been able to soar dynamically in meteorological wind shears at higher altitudes. The highest speeds reported are by radio controlled gliders at 505 mph (813 km/h).[1]

Dynamic soaring is sometimes confused with controllable slope soaring which uses a similar but different technique for achieving elevation.

This is an Unboxing, Build, Review, and Maiden Flight video for the WLToys Cessna 182 RC Plane. I reviewed this because of its price point and that a few of my subscribers were wondering if it was a decent alternative to the legendary Hobbyzone Champ made by Horizon Hobby.

Here are my review notes:

Pros:
- Long flight times
- Plenty of power
- The radio is very good for a ready to fly - RTF RC Plane
- Does nice loops

Cons:
- This is not a hobby grade RC Trainer Plane
- The CG is a challenge to get dialed in since the battery bay limits adjustments

The longer I have this WLtoys F949 Cessna 182 3 Channel RC Aircraft, the more I enjoy flying it.

Here are some facts about the The Cessna 182 Skylane which this RC Plane is modeled after:

The Cessna 182 Skylane is an American four-seat, single-engined light airplane, built by Cessna of Wichita, Kansas. It has the option of adding two child seats, installed in the baggage area.

Introduced in 1956, the 182 has been produced in a number of variants, including a version with retractable landing gear, and is the second most popular Cessna model, after the 172.

The Cessna 182 was introduced in 1956 as a tricycle gear variant of the 180. In 1957, the 182A variant was introduced along with the name Skylane. As production continued, later models were improved regularly with features such as a wider fuselage, swept tailfin with rear "omni-vision" window, enlarged baggage compartment, higher gross weights, landing gear changes, etc. The "restart" aircraft built after 1996 were different in many other details including a different engine, new seating design, etc.

By mid-2013 Cessna planned to introduce the next model of the 182T, the JT-A, using the 227 hp (169 kW) SMA SR305-230 diesel engine running on Jet-A with a burn rate of 11 U.S. gallons (42 L; 9.2 imp gal) per hour and cruise at 155 kn (287 km/h).[4][5] Cessna has no timeline for the JT-A and the diesel 172.[6] The normally aspirated, avgas fueled 182 went out of production in 2012, but came back in 2015.[7]

I still plane to make more videos with this WL Toys Cessna - 182, so stay tuned for those in the near future.]]>

I made this really cheap smoke machine for creating a smoke trail behind my radio controlled electric plane. It is a simple design using things that I already had lying around my shop. The "smoke" is created by releasing talculm powder from a small container attached under the wing of my rc plane. To control the release rate of the powder & to prevent clogging, I added a wind-driven auger that keeps the outlet clog-free.

This is the first prototype and it has some limitations: 1. the container (a McCormicks spice container that held 0.7g of Ground Tyme) is very small so the smoke trail doesn't last very long before the container is emptied 2. I lose about 30% of the powder on take-off so I need to add a servo to keep the outlet closed until I get airborne]]>

A smoke machine is a great tool to have, because sometimes a small vacuum leak is alot more tougher to find than one would imagine.

This is a smoke machine I made for finding automotive vacuum and exhaust leaks. The whole project cost under $40. Be careful if you try building a home made smoke machine. The mineral oil I used was not explosively flammable, but it will definitely catch fire!

These are just the first 23, make sure to look at Part 2 too! Thanks! Let the bidding begin! For a guideline - Most of the pricing starts at the Plane's price + Supermax Crashproofing Installed. Shipping is extra. Some of the planes cannot be broken down for shipping. We can deliver at the NEAT Fair.

If you see something you like, just look it up on our site and add the plane price + Supermax Crashproofing installed to get a good "starting point" - then make us an offer. We will register your bid and sell to the highest bidder.

These are previously flown and tested airplanes, which we fly and test in order to make our sales videos. We are selling them as is. All of the parts and systems worked perfectly the last time we flew it. After we shoot our video, we put up the gear, take out the battery and put it on it's rack. Since then it's been sitting on it's rack untouched. As you can tell from the video, everything is working on the plane.

Great demo by world champion rc helicopter pilot Radio-controlled helicopters (also RC helicopters) are model aircraft which are distinct from RC airplanes because of the differences in construction, aerodynamics, and flight training. Several basic designs of RC helicopters exist, of which some (such as those with collective pitch control) are more maneuverable than others. The more maneuverable designs are often harder to fly, but benefit from greater aerobatic capabilities.

Flight controls allow pilots to control the collective (or throttle, on fixed pitch helicopters), the cyclic controls (pitch and roll), and the tail rotor (yaw). Controlling these in unison enables the helicopter to perform the same maneuvers as full-sized helicopters, such as hovering and backwards flight, and many that full-sized helicopters cannot, such as inverted flight (where collective pitch control provides negative blade pitch to hold heli up inverted, and pitch/yaw controls must be reversed by pilot).
The various helicopter controls are effected by means of small servo motors, commonly known as servos. A piezoelectric gyroscope sensor is typically used on the tail rotor (yaw) control to counter wind- and torque-reaction-induced tail movement. Most newer helicopters have gyro-stabilization on the other 2 axes of rotation (pitch and roll) as well. Such 3-axis gyro is typically called a flybarless controller, so-called because it eliminates the need for a flybar.
The engines typically used to be methanol-powered two-stroke motors, but electric brushless motors combined with a high-performance lithium polymer battery (LiPo) are now more common and provide improved efficiency, performance and lifespan compared to brushed motors, while decreasing prices bring them within reach of hobbyists. Gasoline and jet turbine engines are also used.
Just like full sized helicopters, model helicopter rotors turn at high speeds and can cause severe injuries. Several deaths have occurred as recently as 2013.

Types of R/C helicopter
Common power sources of R/C helicopters are glow fuel (also called nitro fuel, nitromethane-methanol), electric batteries, gasoline (petrol) and turbine engines. For the first 40 years, glow fuel helicopters were the most common type produced. However, in the last 10 years, electric powered helicopters have matured to a point where power and flight times have equaled glow fuel helicopters.
There have been two main types of systems to control the main rotors, mechanical mixing and cyclic/collective pitch mixing (CCPM). Most earlier helicopters used mechanical mixing. Today, nearly all R/C helicopter use CCPM.
Practical electric helicopters are a recent development but have rapidly developed and become more common, overtaking glow fuel helicopters in common use. Turbine helicopters are also increasing in popularity, although the high cost puts them out of reach of most people.

Electric
Two small electric helicopters emerged in the mid-1990s. These were the Kalt Whisper and the Kyosho EP Concept, flying on 7–8 × 1.2 Ah NiCad batteries with brushed motors. However, the 540-sized brushed-motors were on the limit of current draw, often 20–25 amps on the more powerful motors, hence brush and commutator problems were common.
Recent advancements in battery technology are making electric flying more feasible in terms of flying time. Lithium polymer (LiPo) batteries are able to provide the high current required for high performance aerobatics while still remaining very light. Typical flight times are 4–12 minutes depending on the flying style and battery capacity.

In the past electric helicopters were used mainly indoors due to the small size and lack of fumes. Larger electric helicopters suitable for outdoor flight and advanced aerobatics have become a reality over the last few years and have become very popular. Their quietness has made them very popular for flying sites close to residential areas and in places such as Germany where there are strict noise restrictions. Nitro helicopters have also been converted to electric power by commercial and homemade kits.

The smallest remote-controlled production model helicopter made (Guinness World Records 2006) is the Picooz Extreme MX-1 sold at many toy stores (although this is infrared controlled, not radio), electronics stores and internet stores, costing about $30 (£28). The next smallest is the standard Picooz helicopter.
Several models are in contention for the title of the smallest non-production remote-controlled helicopter, including the Pixelito family of micro helicopters, the Proxflyer family, and the Micro flying robot.

Glow fuel, or nitro fuel helicopters (not to be confused with gas, or gasoline powered helicopters) have been made in several sizes over the years. These are referred to as the "class" of the helicopter. They include 1/2A class, 15 class, 30 class, 50 class, 60 class and 90 class.

Check out our RC Boat carnage compilation. It is my Top 10 RC Boat Crash Compilation video. From mild boat flips and sinkings to violent and downright scary high speed crashes.

Some of these RC boat crashes show just how much momentum a high speed RC boat is carrying and just how easily they can sink without a trace.....RC boat crashes were never like this when I was growing up!

These are Losi 1/5th scale 4x4 Short Course rc trucks. Each one of them are powered by a gasoline/oil mix engine with an electronic brain. Each one of these vehicles have been modified in one form or another to optimize their performance, to the liking of their drivers.

Welcome to the RCSparks Studio Race Track, a private place we invite friends and family to have some awesome RC fun! The "Little Dirty" is a series of races prior to the BiG DiRTY Race held at the End of August (usually). These races are really just practice for the drivers and a chance to test out their rigs after modding, or purchasing equipment/new trucks.

Today was Really Hot - about +35c and the engines are running well. We are all dying of heatstroke (Canucks are usually in a deep freeze), but loving every minute of it!! The racers came out and the volunteers were there to help out flipping some trucks! Really AWESOME!

I used 6 cameras to capture footage including 2 GoPro's, 3 Video Cameras, and a DJi Phantom for Aerial footage. Shooting this film took a lot of planning and preparation at the race track, as well as getting all the gear in the right place at the right time. A SPECiAL Thanks to Donna and Jennett, my two amazing Camera Ladies, as well as my bro Everett for assisting in getting great footage for all to enjoy!

An even BiGGER SHOUT OUT to all that help make RC ADVENTURES and these types of events possible! The Viewers and Participants are the reason we do this show.. and we certainly hope it keeps you entertained and inspired, for years to come!

RC Сars can drive through mud, puddles and stones. If there`s no mud, off road trail track is built of stones, sand and wood. These small-sized off road cars can drive in a deep mud and puddle with no difficulty. At the same time, RC cars look like real off road 4x4 cars and 6x6 trucks such as Toyota Tundra, Hummer H2, Dodge RAM, MAN KAT 6x6, Land Rover DEFENDER that are very strong and powerful. Sometimes it`s difficult to understand if it`s an RC car or the real truck. The main manufacturers of these models are RC Axial, Tamiya, RC4WD, HPI. I suggest to watch this video as RC cars drive through mud and off road.
People call these models of RC trucks as toys for adults because they are quite expensive. The set of RC truck with the car, the battery, electronics and a charger costs about $500.

Summit heads west to Las Vegas where the action is always hot. Except this adventure ditches the blacktop and leaves The Strip behind for some four-wheel fun out in the desert. Traxxas Summit puts its shiftable high/low transmission to good use as it runs across salt flats and rocky trails. When the trails get a little tougher and steeper, Summit uses its remote locking differentials to get its Titan 775 torque down to the ground. The Revo suspension and GTR shocks easily soak up the terrain as the massive 7-inch tall Canyon A/T tires grab traction. Summit is also equipped with waterproof electronics for when you encounter wet conditions wherever the adventure takes you. And when the sun goes down the fun keeps rolling. Summit is equipped with ultra-bright LED lights so you can see the trail ahead. Day or night, whatever the terrain, Summit is the ultimate adventure machine!
